Our first stop of the day will be lunch at Cracker Barrel. Next we’ll make a quick visit to the French Lick Hotel (built in 1901) which is located beside West Baden Springs. We’ll be checking into the beautiful West Baden Springs Hotel at 3:30pm. (www.westbadenspringshotel.com) Built in 1902, this hotel was the essence of grandeur, boasting a six-story dome atrium. Dubbed the “Eighth Wonder of the World,” West Baden Springs Hotel was a haven for celebrities and political figures. Following the stock market crash of 1929, the hotel closed. In 2005, the $382 million historic restoration project included the French Lick & West Baden Hotels, and new casino. You may enjoy your stay there by…treating yourself to the spa, lounging by their indoor and outdoor pools, strolling thru the beautiful gardens, sipping cocktails in the atrium, relaxing on the front porch, taking a horse and buggy ride, trying your luck in the casino.
